M Dougherty (b. 1991, Los Angeles, CA) is a nonbinary, multidisciplinary artist and researcher whose work bridges the realms of art and science, using scent as a medium to explore the convergence of technology, humanity, and the natural world. M’s practice, while deeply rooted in scientific inquiry, is also profoundly personal, reflecting an introspective engagement with the senses.

Through installations, performances, and creative technologies, M constructs immersive olfactory experiences that transport audiences into new sensory landscapes. Their acclaimed installation /ForestBath, developed during the pandemic, brought the essence of the forest to the streets of New York City, offering the physiological and psychological benefits of nature to people isolated from these environments.
